One Sheaf of Wheat

This was written shortly after Along the Way and inspired by a poem written by my friend Andrew Wheeler and the Incredible String Band. The remix was done by Onesic also known as Tony Schreck.

You can download it on LastFM and DMusic.com

It's highest MP3.com chart position was #99 in Folk for the acoustic version and #13 in Trip Hop for the remix.

Review of Dark Elements Remix: "The song starts out with a cool, sluggish groove. Now the vocals come in. A light voice far in the back. The slowed down feel to the groove gives the song a dark, sinister aura. I like the song. I think that the way your voice is mixed is great. The breakdown at around 2:30 adds another feel to the song. An even darker one. Now the vocals are even slowed. I like the kind of stuff that you do. I'm a big fan of great harmonies, and I heard some of them on some of your other pieces" - SinSeeker

Lyrics

We pushed and fought our way
To the top of that hill
But when we stumbled you rolled
Down the other side from me
And when it's all gone I touch your cheek

And when I can't touch you I'll touch the sky
Touch the sky full of stars
Oh and stars and stars and stars
And they will hold my love for you

CH: But won't you give me one sheaf of wheat and a kiss
Before we part / Then say goodbye

And when I can't touch you I'll touch the river
Touch the river running water
Oh water
And that will take my love for you

And when I can't touch you I'll touch the wind
Touch the wind blowing through
Oh through and over you
And it will take my love away

And when I can't touch you I'll touch the trees
Tough the leaves, the strongest trees
Oh and dance in green
And they will keep my love for you
